Swap real names for neutral placeholders like [Name 1] before you paste into any AI tool, then swap them back when the reply returns. Works for anyone with names to protect: students and families, coworkers or clients, or the characters in your story. Runs entirely in this page; no accounts, no network, nothing collected.
Emails and phone numbers that aren't tied to someone on your roster are masked one way only, the originals aren't stored, so Unmask can't bring those back. Ones you add via the CSV's email/phone columns are tied to a person and unmask fine.
This page is the full tool, but the free NameMask browser extension brings it into every text box you use. A small dot sits in the top-right corner of whatever box you're typing in. Click it to mask or unmask the whole box in place, without copying anything back and forth. It stays fully offline, the same as this page.
Live preview, uses the sample roster on the right. Click into the box, then hover the dot.
NameMask runs entirely in this page and on your device. It never connects to the internet and sends nothing anywhere. Save the file and use it with Wi-Fi off if you like. Your roster is stored only in this browser on this computer. Share a roster by exporting the file and handing it over. That file is the only thing that ever moves, and only when you choose to move it.

Have a list already? Select the rows (with the header row), copy, and paste below. Common columns, names, group/team/studio, and contacts, are detected automatically. Teachers: class-list columns like Learner First Name and Guardian 1/2 work too.
These are removable example names. Delete them, or add your own list, and they'll be replaced by your real roster.
